David
Armstrong has written about some of the most intriguing places on
the planet during his career as a staff writer with the San Francisco
Chronicle and the San Francisco Examiner. He is a widely published
freelance journalist, publishing articles in the Globe and Mail
(Toronto), Wired, Village Voice, Travel & Leisure, the Alaska
Airlines in-flight magazine, Toronto Star, Los Angeles Times, Columbia
Journalism Review, Politique Hebro (France) and Swing Journal (Japan).

Travel, a twice weekly column for Aviation.com and is a regular
contributor on travel to The Good Life section of TheStreet.com.
He is the author of four books
– including the guidebook “Secret San Francisco’’
- and co-author of a fifth. In addition to his travel writing, David
has written film and theater criticism, worked as an international
trade reporter, reviewed books, edited an alternative weekly newspaper
and a monthly arts magazine, and covered the cultural and commercial
dimensions of globalization. His books have been published in the
United States, Canada and the United Kingdom. He lives with his
London-born wife in California.
